Pratt 2011 Senior Jewelry Critique
Asian American students shine at Pratt's senior jewelry critique. Emerging design talent was on full display with 4 of the 5 top prizes going to Asian and Asian American seniors. Each participant created 10-15 pieces based on their chosen theme. The work was reviewed in a gallery setting where the students designed and created display environments to showcase their collections.
Inhwa Yu captured fifth prize with her collection "memory" where silkworms and cocoons provided the inspiration for her designs.
Jina Lee was awarded fourth prize with her "sea creatures" characterized by delicate repeated elements using wire and beads.
Yoon Ah Paik took third prize with her "cactus" collection fabricated of metals and fabrics.
Lockyeon Kim was the recpient of second prize with her copper, silver and silicone collection entitled "growing".
